"Infiltrate" is an interesting word. I think its a lot like "brainwash". We use it in relation to persons or ideas with whom we disagree. If we agree with them, we use the words "influence" and "persuade".

The conversation at the German Transhumanist site was a debate about whether religion generally is a legitimate "partner" for Transhumanism, or whether it is inherently antithetical to science. The typical "look at all the violence instigated by religion" arguments were put forth, along with some more moderate "religion certainly isn't the only, or maybe even the primary, source of these kinds of problems" comments. The biggest problem with the conversation was that no one was well informed about Mormonism, and those who have had a modicum of experience with it focused on its racist reputation. We need to consider, as we seek to influence the Transhumanist movement, how we can best communicate the pro-science stance within Mormonism, its materialism and naturalism, and its openness to change.
