Keep in mind that electrical heat is the most expensive of the various fuel sources.  I wouldn't look at a computer as an efficient heat source, but I do think that the value gained from participating in BOINC is well worth an extra $5 a month on my electrical bill.

Would there be any problem with making a post on SWAB, inviting people to join the MTA BOINC group?

It seems like there are a few people that would be into this (Jeremy The Giant Robot, Cheapcontact, Cowboy Dan, and Brandon just off the top of my head.)

I have already invited a few persons that are not members of the MTA to participate with us. Why not? It furthers the purpose of the association.
