I agree with Andy. I believe the main point of the board meetings is to discuss and implement the responsibilities of board members. This is a formally organized non-profit group and should operate in an established way. I also think that the current format is the most efficient for getting things done while keeping the time commitment at a minimum.
I recorded the first board meeting and have been planning to upload it to the site for some time. As soon as I get a more reliable method of recording board meetings, I intend to make them all available. They aren't intended to be secret, but more a way of getting needed business done in an efficient way. Most folks who aren't directly involved aren't going to want to sit through the minutiae anyway.
I think if you want to hold other meetings for the general membership, that's fine, but they should be disconnected with the board meeting so that those of us whose time is strained already don't feel obligated to attend another monthly meeting.
